A Description of Tag Fields

What do I put in each field?


  • The title of the movie or TV episode
  • The cast members of the movie, or name of the TV series
  • The release date for the movie or TV episode
  • The MPAA rating for the movie or TV show
  • The style of movie or TV show
  • The album that the video is a part of
  • The name of the artist who recorded the album
  • The date you purchased the movie or TV show
  • A short description of the move in 256 characters or less.
    This is displayed in the iTunes listing.
  • A detailed description of the movie. This is displayed in the
    iTunes "i" popup window and on Apple TV.
  • The artwork associated with the movie or TV show.
    Normally this is a poster or DVD box cover.
  • The type of video
  • The cast of the movie or TV Show
  • The movie's director
  • The movie's producer
  • The writer who created the movie or TV show
  • The name of the TV series
  • A unique ID for this particular episode of a TV show
  • A number indicating the season of the show
  • A number indicating the episode
  • The network which carried the TV show
  • Denotes whether the content is offensive or not
  • Copyright information associated with the movie or TV show
  • Episode number # out of # in a TV season
  • Totol number of episodes in a TV season
  • The title to sort by in iTunes
  • The artist name to sort by in iTunes
  • The album artist to sort by in iTunes
